How to Run 2 Skype Accounts on the Same Computer
So you need to run 2 instances of Skype, perhaps one for personal use and the other one for business us. Whatever your reason, this is something that can be easily accomplished in this small guide. In this tutorial, you will learn how to run 2 Skype Accounts on the same Computer simultaneously.
Go to the Windows Taskbar and click start, then go to Run or press the Windows and R keys on your keyboard at the same time. In the Run window, type (including the quotes) and press OK:
For 32-bit operating systems:
“C:\Program Files\Skype\Phone\Skype.exe” /secondary
For 64-bit operating systems:
“C:\Program Files (x86)\Skype\Phone\Skype.exe” /secondary
If you have changed the default location of Skype, you will of course need to alter the links to work with your new location.
If you have followed the steps properly, you will now have 2 Skype accounts on the same computer in separate instances of the program.
As of this update, there is another way to run 2 Skype accounts on the same computer, but it isn’t as efficient. What you can do is you can use Skype for web beta. While running the program of Skype with one account, you can use Skype for the web for the secondary account. This will allow you to manage the accounts through different interfaces, which perhaps will make it more organized. This would be a good application for business and personal use, use the web version for business only when you are working and the desktop version can be used for personal contacts.
Whatever way you choose to use 2 Skype accounts simultaneously, there are a few options we have provided. We hope that you find this tutorial helpful in your Skype use.
